Post 100

In honor of our one-hundreth blog post, I should make a list of 100 things I love about my family, or 100 things I have learned since starting this blog, or 100 reasons why I am torn about going back to work in a few days, but I don't have time for that; Aiden does not find blogging very interesting. I do have almost enough time to post a few pictures, however.
Aiden sure loves his daddy. So do I. I have found my sleep schedule fitting the baby's sleep schedule the last few months, and it does not gel at all with my work schedule, so the past week as I have been trying to get up earlier, I have been terribly grateful for this wonderful hubby who helps with the baby when he wants to be awake in the middle of the night.
We watched part of Baby Mozart for the first time this week. Actually, Aiden watched transfixedly while I folded laundry and did dishes, and it was the most productive 20 minutes I have had home alone with him in awhile. Thank you Baby Einstein.
Aiden does not do much of grasping anything other than blankets, burp cloths or people's shirts, but we are trying to get him to hold rattles. He was doing pretty well the other day with this puppy rattle. You can also see that his hair is coming back in to cover his "premature balding." ;)

He adores my sister. His face lights up when he sees her most of the time, and he loves to walk around with her or snuggle with her. She gets better smiles than I do sometimes!

Baby Babble

Here is Aiden sitting in his walker. We like that he is starting to make more and more sounds that are not crying. :)

Mr. Independent... or not

Aiden is trying to convince us he wants to be more independent, but he can't fool us!

He enjoyed time in this swing at Danielle's house... until he couldn't see us anymore!

He likes to sit in his high chair while we eat... until he falls over! (We stuff a blanket in the side to help prop him up.)
He loves to "stand up," and since babies have a step reflex, he frequently looks like he's trying walk... but he has ZERO stability or balance, lol, just strong legs.
He likes to sit in his walker (sans wheels) while I fold laundry or do some activity where I can't hold him... until he gets frustrated that he can't quite suck on the toy bar. He has been very interested in tasting things lately.
Really, he's still a snuggler though, and he's getting pretty good at flashing us big crooked smiles just like Isaac.
Here he is holding Naomi's hand (or thumb). We might worry about him being a lady's man since it seems like most of our local friends have had girls for the past two years...
but really he would rather snuggle with his mommy than any other girl!
and here's a funny face just to make you laugh!

Happy Mothers' Day!

This holiday was especially significant this year. I hope I can learn to be as good a mom as the examples set by the many strong moms in my life. Wishing all you mommies a great day!

Mommy Moment

So, I think it's funny how as a mom, I do and talk about things I would never have expected (who knew I'd be sniffing someone's bum to see if I could detect big business?). I am also amused when moms are so excited about every little thing their baby does, just because it's a new thing for THAT baby. I can't say I'm excited about Aiden's activity in this video, but I do think it's a good representation of how he is moving around a lot more and sleeping less now that he is almost two months old. Maybe it's only something a mom enjoys watching, but maybe you'll enjoy seeing him flail his arms around and pull faces too!
(feel free to mute my ridiculous monologue)

Just a Thought

I think it's lame that we can't be considered for a mortgage refinance because we have money in the bank... isn't it good to be responsible?
