My mom, Aiden and I flew out to Utah this weekend. Our original plans and even our secondary plans ended up changing somewhat, but we had a good trip anyway.
Aiden and I visited Matthew and Stephani at their lovely home in Lehi for a few hours, and it was so nice of them to let us visit so late and to offer up their guest room to us! I wish we could have spent more time with them. I also wish I’d taken a picture. Aiden was in love with Charles.
Here is something I do NOT miss about Utah… driving in the snow! Good thing it cleared up the same day we arrived and were snowed on.
We went wedding dress shopping with Mandy. I am only posting these because she didn’t pick them, but doesn’t she look awesome?
Aiden liked having his own stage too…
We visited with Mandy, attended her ward, and enjoyed CafĂ© Rio, The Malt Shoppe, and shopping at Tie One On—all things I miss about UT.
It was a hard trip for Aiden. He clearly missed Isaac a lot and asked for him repeatedly, especially the first day. He didn’t sleep as well as he does at home, and he oscillated between being cute and friendly and being a puddle of two-year-old-tantrum on the floor.
I took Mandy and Bryant’s engagement pictures while we were there too. It was so nice of them to trust me to do it! We took some just for fun.
This is where they got engaged:
It’s always funny to be back in Provo and have a sense of nostalgia but also to be amazed at how much has changed since we lived there. It was awesome to spend time with Mandy and Bryant, and we look forward to seeing more of them this summer.
Aiden was not a big fan of being strapped into the plane, the car, and the stroller so much. Today he was crying “buckle! Mama, buckle!” It was so sad.
In general, Aiden was pretty good, but he sure was happy to be back home today. He was especially happy to see his daddy.
