We were having a nice little chat with Mom and Teresa shortly before they arrived at the Bylunds' up in Rochester. Aiden decided he wanted to not cry, sit up, and listen. Daddy decided that he wanted photo proof.

Fifth Anniversary!
We can hardly believe we've been married for FIVE years now, but I guess time flies when you're having fun! Here are our five stand-out memories from the past five years... (in choronological order)
1. My BYU Graduation and moving to California: I was so happy to be done with school, and we were so fortunate to both obtain jobs pretty quickly which have been secure the past four years (even if Isaac doesn't want to stay at his forever, we're happy he has a job).
2. Buying a condo: We'll be excited to have a house with a garage and a yard someday, but for now, we are so comfortable and happy, knowing that we are putting money toward owning something. Our condo is lovely and open, and we're so lucky to have our own space. It was also the next thing that really made us feel like grown-ups!
3. Getting Sophie and starting to expand our little family: In a lot of ways, she has been good prep for a baby, but a baby sure is a lot more work! She is loyal and playful and a little bit of trouble, but we're sure smitten with her. We love that she loves Aiden, and that Aiden loves to watch Sophie.
4. Visiting Spain, Portugal, France and Andorra (yeah, mostly just Spain): We have both been interested in traveling there since all four of our parents had been to Spain before, and it was a great vacation. It also made us really grateful to live in the US.
5. Welcoming Aiden into our family: What a miracle it has been to see him grow and to see how we are changing as we all adapt and get to know one another. He is such a blessing in our home, and we can hardly imagine life without him.
What a great five years it has been! Here's to a whole bunch more...

3 months and counting
Aiden is about three months and one week old. What do I love about a three-month old?
1. This face:
2. The way he babbles at me for longer periods of time while he is learning how to make all kinds of new sounds
3. How this week's transition to his big boy crib in his own room is not as painful as I had feared
4. When he makes all kinds of funny noises to get my attention when someone else is holding him, and how he smiles when I look at him
5. Watching him try to be so big... attempting to sit forward or move in circles on his back or tummy or look so proud when he touches something he was reaching for
6. Seeing him grow little by little into a cute little boy who clearly loves his mommy and daddy

Happy Birthday, Isaac (6 days late)!
For Isaac's birthday last week, we went to eat at Chevy's and watched Star Trek, per his request. I even stayed awake the whole time without a nap that day.
I super love Aiden's face in this picture. He looks pretty confused. Or concerned.
