One of the summer projects we planned this year was to turn this little attic space into a playroom for the boys, partly for fun and partly so they have more space when they end up sharing a room this fall.
We started with the 8x8x5-ish foot attic space, the entrance to which is in Aiden’s closet. We had some baby clothes stored in it, so we moved all of that out.
Isaac removed the old panels which covered most of the walls and *happy day* found an electrical line he could splice into since the attic space was unlit.
He enlarged the entrance, installed a light, put up new paneling on the walls and ceilings, and installed a register over the vent.
He mostly used flooring we had leftover from earlier projects to lay a new floor, and then he trimmed it all out.
After Isaac did all the hard work, my job was cleaning, organizing, and decorating. The boys had a blast moving in the train table, a small table & chair, a rug, and some toy storage.
Aiden helped me decorate. We put up wall decals with cars, planes, and trains. We put up an alphabet poster, an Usborne World Map, and a giant white board Isaac rescued from discard at a past job.
In case you can’t tell, the boys are super happy.
Next project: Condo Renovation… we’ll leave this one mostly to the professionals…

CUTEST. PLAYROOM. EVER. I love it and it looks like the boys love it too. Thanks for posting all those pictures. So fun to see it transform.
THAT IS TOTALLY WICKED!!!!!! I love it! My kids can't wait to come mess it up... I mean... play in it :) I guess the best part about that play room is that it can hide itself away very nicely if the toys are not put away...
