For the past few years, we’ve been saving up for a trip to Hawaii for our tenth anniversary. We made a mini Anderson family reunion out of it and enjoyed time with family, fish, and… chickens.
This month we spent a few relaxing days on the island of Kauai. I went to Oahu with my family about sixteen years ago, but this was my first time on Kauai, so it was pretty exciting. We stayed in a rental home with my parents and brother. Thanks for the great lodging, Mom & Dad!
It is a beautiful island, and we had a wonderful time.
Do you see this guy stalking my shrimp? Seriously, the chickens and roosters are EVERYwhere.
Poor Landon was pretty worn out the first day, and he had a hard time adjusting to the climate. He learned to associate the word “hot” with climate and not just food, poor kid.
The house we stayed in was surrounded by greenery that hid it from everything else. There were mangoes, bananas, avocados, coconuts, and more growing on the property that we were allowed to eat.
We had lots of fun at the beach down the street and enjoyed seeing the sights.
Aiden made friends with the local cat…
Isaac was the only one brave enough to trek down to the beach at dawn to see the sunrise; I stayed in bed with the sleeping kids.
After a few days on Kauai, we met up with more family on Oahu!
