More summer maximization…
Isaac started a second restaurant job since EB seems a little unstable right now and since I’m home with the boys, it’s easier for him to work more hours. Getting familiar with a new staff and menu is an adjustment, but he’s doing great so far.
Since two jobs wasn’t enough to keep him busy (just kidding), he and I worked on the following project… I wanted more seating in the family room AND a place to put scrapbooks, so I researched benches, measured our space, and designed a cubby bench. Isaac kindly built it, mostly out of wood we had in the garage, stained and sealed it. Now my next job is to trim the foam and sew up a cover for it.
We’ve enjoyed time at the park with the kite, stomp rocket, and generally running around on the mostly soft city grass since we’re doing our part and letting our lawn get pretty crispy during the drought. Brown is the new green, don’t you know…
We helped throw a comic book/superhero themed baby shower for Brooke.
We discovered evidence of a rodent in our house… and then Sophie found and chased a rat out. Gross. We are glad she chased him so we could see his secret entrance through a little hole in the kitchen, behind the cabinets, from under the house, so now we’re pretty sure it can’t get back in. GROSS.
We went to the beach… (photo dump…)
We’ve been reading and playing and keeping busy… next stop, Disneyland!

1. The cubby bench looks AWESOME. Great work, Isaac!
2. I love the shot at the beach where you can see all the city behind Isaac and Aiden. That is gorgeous.
