4 months old!

At four months old, Landon grabs onto things a lot: Mommy’s hair, necklaces, toys, blankets, clothing… anything he can get his hands on. He also likes to put things in his mouth, so we have to be pretty careful about what he can get his hands on.

Today he had his first haircut just to even it out since some of the hair on top of his head didn’t fall out and was longer than the rest of his hair. It is definitely coming in lighter than what he was born with because the clippings were so dark, but his hair doesn’t look so dark now that it’s been cut.

He also tried his first “food” today—very liquid-y rice cereal. He did surprisingly well. It’s not shocking since this kid seriously loves to eat—I’m hoping he’ll adapt to food quickly. Aiden was excited to help too.

He is still a relatively mellow baby. He’s not as great of a sleeper as Aiden has always been, but he regularly sleeps 7-8 hour stretches at night and takes one solid nap and several cat naps throughout the day.

He likes little more than to be the center of attention, being held, talked to, sung to, carried around, etc. He loves “Pat-A-Cake,” watching Aiden dance around, and looking at bright picture books. He loves to be outside and is content to sit in his swing or baby seat or just in front of a window for long periods of time.

We sure are enjoying his presence in our family!

Brothers

It took Aiden a long time to come around to being a brother. He understood that Landon was “his baby brother,” but call Aiden a brother, and he would respond “I’m not a brother! I’m just a boy!” Thankfully, he gets it now. He sure was proud to be allowed to sit with his brother on his lap after church today. They had matching brown ties and shoes at one point, but Aiden refused to leave the tie on, and once we got home from church, all the shoes came off… this is my life with a bunch of boys, I guess.

Anyway, it is sweet to see them love each other. Aiden can often be coaxed into getting toys or blankets or something else for Landon, and he likes to sing or talk to him. Yesterday, I asked Aiden to tell his brother a story, and he said, “Landon. Remember Jesus? He died, and the angels came, and He is alive!” which was a quick version of the Resurrection but sweet. Landon loves to watch Aiden and I’m sure can’t wait to be able to run and play with him.

Bylund Visit

We were excited to have the Bylunds visit California last week and spend some time with us.

The boys accompanied Emily and the kids to the SF Zoo and the beach, and we enjoyed a few meals together and some time to visit.

3 Months Old!

I have hit a big milestone: I am three months old! I am pretty mellow, I have a deep baby voice, and I love to be held (all the time). I have inherited gassiness from my daddy and also his killer smile.

I’m good at pulling funny faces. I drool a lot.

I’m learning how to hold onto things, and I like to think my hands are pretty cool. I like to see what’s going on, and I don’t like to be alone.

I am sleeping longer stretches at night most of the time, but I’m still deciding if I like doing that or not.

Hold me and talk to me, and I’m a pretty happy baby!
