And then we went to Tennessee…

Early the morning after Christmas, we flew to Tennessee. The boys were so well-behaved, I still can’t believe my good fortune. Aiden was helpful and cheerful and listened well. Landon hardly made a peep. It was amazing.

All of Isaac’s siblings were able to meet at his parents’ for the holidays. Aiden saw all six of his cousins, including two we hadn’t met before. We even got to celebrate his cousin Nathan’s first birthday while there.

Isaac’s grandma Hanson, Uncle Denis, and Aunt Nora were there too, so we had quite the party.

It was wonderful to have everyone together.

Landon saw his first snow… although I don’t think it registered for him as much as for Aiden, who let Grandpa teach him how to put on gloves, threw snowballs with Daddy, and came running in to see me when he got cold.

We were all totally spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa. We baked cookies, and Aiden learned how to build with omagles.

We went to the park, played games at the house, raced, watched the BYU bowl game, and visited the Pink Palace Museum, which had an animatronic T-Rex. Aiden was excited to see it until he actually got there and heard a little child screaming in terror… and then he had to work through his own fear of the dinosaur.

We are so grateful to everyone who made it possible for us to see so much family! Happy New Year!

One is smiling on purpose now, and the other made a handprint and painted it himself. He is so proud; if you come over, he’s likely to show it to you. Smile

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas…

Tonight was the Ward Christmas party. Here are Jade and Landon at their first ward Christmas party:

This is what Aiden and Naomi looked like at THEIR first ward Christmas party… they were a little older. Smile

We even got to see Santa. Aiden was pretty excited!

Daddy was excited too.

After the party, we drove through a local neighborhood with lots of fun lights and Disney cut-outs. These were Aiden’s favorite displays:

Aiden has been helping me with wrapping presents, and he is getting really ready for Christmas. He did notice that we haven’t wrapped any presents for him though. He informed me recently, “Mom, there are no presents for Aiden under the tree. I am going to tell Dad you didn’t wrap any presents for me!” Hm. Guess I’m in trouble.

Getting ready for Christmas!

This year we bought a real tree for Christmas. It was pretty fun bundling up to go out in the (40-something degree) cold weather to pick out a Christmas tree. Aiden chose our tree, and we thought he did a pretty good job.

We spent a few days cleaning house and decorating so we’d be ready for not just the holidays but for the Relief Society progressive dinner, which served dessert at our house.

Landon is gearing up for his first Christmas whether he knows it or not. Aiden has been super excited about wrapping presents for other people and listening to Christmas music and talking about flying to Papa Snow’s house to see all his cousins.

Aiden is getting more accustomed to having a baby in the house, and Landon is getting more alert and amused by watching Aiden sing or play with toys in front of him.

Landon is getting better at lifting up his head and rolled from his tummy to his back twice during tummy time last week. He also smiles intentionally very occasionally, which is something we all get excited about.

It has sure felt cold here lately, but we acknowledge that we are wimps about the cold and send warm hugs to family all over this freezing country!

Landon’s Baby Blessing

We were lucky to have a lot of family come out for Landon’s blessing on Sunday. We had family in town from San Lorenzo, Pleasanton, Livermore, Madera, Utah and Tennessee!

Landon’s cousin Nora celebrated her first birthday the day after Landon was born.

At his one-month check up this week, he weighed in at ten pounds even and 22.25 inches long (about the 90th percentile for length), so he is not a tiny guy like Aiden. Aiden was shorter at two months than Landon is now. My dad estimates he will pass Aiden up by the time he’s three, ha.
