Happy Valentine's Day

Sophie at 9 months old

I keep pretty busy with work, and Isaac keeps pretty busy reading... but Sophie makes the time we are all home together a lot more fun. First is a video f how happy she is to play. She jumps on command, then plays with a barking toy she got for Christmas from my uncle.



This is a picture of her with her favorite toy. She demolishes with incredible speed most of her toys, not only chewing them open and unstuffing them, but eating them as well. It is a little weird to watch how it makes her so happy to eat her toys, but I can deal with that since she seems to understand that she can chew on her own toys and stays away from furniture and that which is not hers. This dog, however, she plucked the eyes off, and chewed off mot of one ear and the tail, but she hasn't torn it up yet. Instead, she carries it around like a little kid carries a teddy bear or something. On this particular occasion, she picked it up off the floor, jumped on our bed with it, and fell asleep right next to it. It was pretty cute.

So, going through this year's visual archive, I came across some cute pictures from September that I thought I would share, if it's okay for Sophie to show off a little bit. These are a few of her tricks...

Christmas Break

We have had quite a busy break already! With special permission, my family got to call Patrick two days early so Isaac and I could be there for his one and only Christmas call (he was in the MTC last year). He sounds somewhat more mature, he talked a lot more than Mother's Day, and he sang us a song that he made up. I was only able to record a part of it, and it's not a brilliant song, but the sentiment is good, and he has a nice voice. It was awesome to hear from him.



We got to go to Tennessee to be with Isaac's family for Christmas. We had a beautifully smooth trip out, no delays, and no problems. It was great to spend time with everyone since we are so spread out. We played games and had lots of time to talk, and everyone enjoyed watching Grace.





It is nice to be home because of the relaxed feeling that gives, but I also know that I have a million things I should be doing, lol, and there never seems to be enough time to take it easy, read for fun, clean house, spend time with family while school is out, AND grade the leaning Tower of Essays...

Oh, and we got a beautiful silk plant today for free. I am happy to have a plant that I cannot kill, even though I seem to have quite a knack for that.
