Memorial Day

The kids and I went to Tahoe with my parents so they could open up the cabin in Tahoe. It was beautiful weather, so nice to have our first day off school since Spring Break in March, and the boys LOVED watching the birds.
They put out bird seed and sat on the porch waiting for birds to come eat.
Charlotte is loving her newfound mobility.
Putting up the flag for Memorial Day...

 Hanging out with Papa
Now just seven more days of school for me and thirteen for Aiden... and then we'll be free to take another leisurely trip!

Growing Up

Aiden lost his first teeth. He pulled out both loose teeth one night and was excited to use the experience as his Sharing Time topic in Kindergarten the next day.

He went from excited that he pulled out the first one to freaked out about the blood to determined to pull out the second one to elated at the prospect of getting a visit from the Tooth Fairy.

Aiden also had his first school field trip this week. They visited Happy Hollow Park & Zoo in San Jose. He was very excited to go and had lots of fun.

Landon is getting bigger and faster all the time, reaching things on the counter that were too high up not so long ago and working hard to keep up with his brother.

Charlotte is starting to crawl just a bit. I wish I had a video, but when I try to record her, she just smiles and sits up. Someday I'll catch her! For now, here's an attempt that's cute even though she's not crawling. :)

Happy Mother's Day!

This Mother's Day is my first with THREE little people. They sure sweeten our lives every day.

Landon made this flower in Nursery. It's very sweet, and he was so proud to give it to me. He even warned me not to touch it because the paint might still be wet. :)

My big guy sang in Sacrament with the Primary today, and he actually looked like he knew a lot of the words. Isaac called it a Mother's Day miracle. He drew this picture of me in Kindergarten (with help), and it's an amazing likeness. :)

I'm so fortunate to be their mom! Isaac and I are also so grateful to our own moms, who've taught us by example how to exhibit love and hard work in the home. Happy Mother's Day to our moms, sisters, aunts, grandmas, and all the women who exemplify so many good qualities we strive to have.

2.5 Years

Ask Landon how old he is, and he will say "TWO AND A HALF!"

Or maybe "FIVE AND A HALF!"

He's figuring out his numbers, ha.

He is learning his colors. He speaks very clearly for a two year old, and we understand the bulk of what he says. He cracks us up with what he comes up with. Today during the first hour of church, my friend (whom he adores) finished speaking, and he said loudly "Is it time for Nursery now?" (It wasn't yet). He says his own simple prayers. He sings along with Primary songs and some kids songs like the ABC's and Farmer in the Dell. He doesn't know all the words, but he does pretty well.

He is totally Aiden's mini-me. For example, yesterday he was shadowing his brother all over the wildlife refuge, including when Aiden climbed from near the water up some rocks to the trail, which was easy for Aiden but pretty big for Landon. He started to slide back, caught himself, and climbed back up. He got to the top and shouted I DID IT! I nearly peed my pants out of fear for him as I hurried to him shouting at him to wait for me to help him, but of course, he wanted to do it himself, even though it was hard.

He is also TWO, which means that he cries for silly reasons sometimes, throws the occasional fit, and sometimes just makes no sense. He is incredibly loud, almost all the time. Shouting seems to be his normal mode of conversation, and he runs around like a stomping elephant. His enthusiasm is in good things too though. He loves to laugh, and if you try to be silly with him, he'll be your best friend and reward your efforts with hilarious belly laughs. He is so charming, and we wouldn't trade him.

8 months

Charlotte is eight months old!

She sits better all the time. She's eating more food and will sometimes smile super huge when she sees someone coming with food. She still has no teeth.

She sits nicely with a variety of people but also recognizes her family.

She LOVES to watch her brothers play. Lately she has wanted to hold onto our hands to stand up more often. She squeaks like she's trying to communicate sometimes. She has been reaching forward for things far enough that she ends up on her knees, and she rocks a little but hasn't figured out crawling yet... I feel like she's going to figure that out soon. She is a very happy baby.
