Happy Memorial Day from our Patriotic Pooch!

In honor of Memorial Day, I thought I would share this video of our very patriotic dog. She loves our country, specifically our current president. I wish I could say I taught her this, but I can't claim any assistance in the excitement she feels at the mention of his name.

Since you can't really tell, at the end she jumps on my lap and licks my face while wagging her tail like crazy. She usually either does this or runs around wagging her tail and looking very excited.

She started doing this totally on her own, and we have no idea why. One day we said his name and got quite a reaction, and it never fails to get a rise out of her.

Primary

I left church after Sunday School today because I have a cold and felt pretty crummy... and once I'd taught my class, I knew they would be okay for the last hour in Primary. It's nice to be home in sweats, blowing my nose all I want without feeling self-conscious or caring that I'm germy, but I kind of miss these guys.

Isn't that just the funniest picture? :)

The Young Women Go Tahitian

I'm sure I'm not the only one who can tell that Mandy is embarassed... but all of the girls did a great job! It's not perfect, but I'm totally impressed. The entertainment at this fundraiser was well worth the entrance fee. ;)

Isaac and the Young Men do the Haka

Here is the Young Men's Tongan Haka. They did a great job with just a few weeks of practice. A few of the boys taught everyone, and they all worked very hard. Notice who gets the loudest laughs...

Young Women's Luau

The Young Women in our ward threw a luau fundraiser for YW Camp tonight. They had the Young Men help with the entertainment... Can you tell that Isaac got into his part? This is his "sour face."

Everyone laughed hard at white boy Isaac because he is so NOT an islander, but I was so proud of him for going all out. They all looked great.

The lovely and talented Melissa Caldwell in our ward did all the boys' makeup, and then they did a Haka dance (as well as some background dancing while the girls did Poi balls).

Mandy had a solo in the Tahitian dance. I would have died of embarassment, but the girls did a beautiful job. There were three numbers from other people, and all were very impressive. We couldn't have asked for a better show. :)

Oh, and I finally really updated about my trip to Utah below. :)

Happy Birthday Sophie!

Sophie is TWO!Can you tell I was holding her attention by waving a treat around in front of the camera? It's her favorite kind of treat... actually, they smell so good, I'm tempted to take a bite...
